Dog or cat?

Are you trying to decide on a good pet for your family? Well, if you are, then you have obviously considered two of the most popular pets - dogs and cats. But, while both are fun to have as pets, it is often hard to keep both permanently - so which one do you choose? If you are not a natural dog or cat fan, then you are probably legitimately wondering which one is better. Well, they both have their upsides and downsides, so here are just a few of them to help give you an idea of what you are getting into.

First of all, dogs. The upsides are that they are usually easy to train, obedient, friendly, playful, and easy to take care of. The better your dog is trained, the easier it will be to keep it as a pet. Dogs love to “love” on their humans, so a lot of people like dogs because they are so affectionate. The downsides of dogs are that, for one, dogs require more attention. They need walks, they need play-time, etc. Second, dogs are usually noisier then cats. Barking is a lot louder than a cat meow in most cases!

Cats, on the other hand, are independent, self sufficient (to a point), easy to take care of, and a lot quieter than dogs. Cats will give you affection, but they will also go do their own thing, thereby needing less general attention then most dogs. Cats are also arguably easier to house train than dogs, as it is comes more instinctively. Cats can, however, be a bit cold and hard to deal with sometimes. Some cats are not so into being cuddly, and will be more reclusive. You will generally find cats less affectionate then dogs.
